Koreatown Co-Living
Location: Los Angeles, CAFirm: OFFICEUNTITLED
The city’s housing shortage has created an urgent demand for diverse and innovative building typologies. Located near the heart of Koreatown, this project aims to foster a co-living experience in the city’s center. The design offers a layered experience, transitioning seamlessly from public to private spaces. Generous communal amenities include a gym, co-working spaces, and an extensive rooftop garden. Semi-private kitchens and living rooms are shared by small groups of 3-5 people, while each resident enjoys a fully furnished room with an ensuite bathroom.
Architecturally, the building embodies the concept of weaving. The façade, grouped in two-floor sections, folds inward to reveal warm wooden accented frames. Aluminum-shrouded windows provide shading and highlight the depth of the curved façade, adding both aesthetic and functional value to the design.
